Rats and Mice are considered `commensal` meaning `they live off man’s table`
The brown rat is the most dominant species in the UK, and can travel in mass up to 2 KM`s a night in search for food. They can climb and swim making them very adaptive. Rats are very choosy with their food and will not take anything mouldy and will reject anything which is unfamiliar. They will consume up to 10% of their own body weight (25-30g) in food per day.
A breeding pair can produce up to 6-8 young every 20-25 days.
INDICATIONS OF RAT ACTIVITY
Droppings. Odour. Runways and tracks. Gnawing damage. Noises similar to scratching (normally in hours of darkness). This is usually in your loft space or within the cavity walls.

I will visit you at least 3 times. During the initial visit I will survey your property (of which you will receive a report) and will either lay traps/place poison (or both) depending on the circumstances.
I will always take into account the safety of your property, i.e. you, your family, your pets and non-target species.
If traps are placed I will ask you to check on a daily basis, or if preferred I will attend.
Ideally the second visit should be between 5-7 days, this will be for replenishment of bait and a review of the circumstances.
On the third visit I will remove any dead rodents and uneaten bait. Most of the time I will be able to establish how the rat has gained entry into your property and it is at this stage I will be able to `proof` any ingress point using professional grade sealants or mortar (at an additional cost).
